Michael Avenatti, for those who do not know, is Stormy Daniels' lawyer. He advocates for her truth and against the prejudice she faces. Michael Avenatti agreed to an interview on Fox News with Tucker Carlson under the understanding he was going to be interviewed regarding Stormy Daniels' case and with the agreement listed by Tucker himself at the beginning of the interview "Show Clips" on http://video.foxnews.com/v/5834633908001/?#sp=show-clips:
Tucker Carlson states within the first minute of the clip...
This interview took place on September 14th, 2018. Despite Tucker's statement in the beginning of his show, he already pasted the nickname he said he would not use throughout the duration of Michael Avenatti's interview. Michael was not informed of this action and did not find out until after the interview had already been done. I am a freshman in college, and in my History 102 class we are practicing the etiquette of interviewing a veteran for our finals project and this sort of behavior would certainly get me expelled.
Those initial responses alone should give my readers a good idea of how Tucker Carlson conducted his "professional" interview. Honestly, he would fail my History project with a negative. Avenatti's first response was regarding the fact that in the beginning of the interview Carlson decided to ask questions about Avenatti's potential presidential bid instead of Stormy Daniels' case.
Stormy Daniels finally became the topic of discussion at around 6 minutes and 40 seconds into the 13 minute interview. The topic shifted because Avenatti inserted a question during Tucker's repetitive questioning, completely bypassing Carlson's "why don't you get a TV-show and you can ask me a question," comment. Avenatti posed the question, "why is it that you don't call Donald Trump the 'Creepy Porn President', he is the one who had sex with a 4 month old son at home, without a condom?" Tucker acknowledged after this question had been raised that he, Tucker himself, believes that the President did indeed have an adulterous affair with Stormy Daniels, but asks what harm the President has done to Stormy Daniels. Despite Tucker insistently trying to talk over Avenatti, Avenatti states loudly and as clearly as he can over Tucker's interruption that the issue wasn't Trump's and Stormy Daniels affair, but that the President and Michael Cohen "lied to the American people and covered up the $130,00 payment and violated campaign finance law." And that Michael Cohen's guilty pledges confirms his statement.
Tucker Carlson: "Stormy Daniels was to perform in Richmond, in a depressing strip club, this Hero that you say you're protecting, you're her protector, why is she working in CD strip clubs while you're on television wearing expensive suits, why are you not exploiting her, why is she doing that?"
Michael Avenatti: "Because she wants to, Tucker. This is America, this is America, and guess what? If a woman wants to perform in a strip club, she does so."
Tucker Carlson: "But you are getting richer, she's not."
Michael Avenatti: "I'm not getting richer."
Tucker Carlson: "Of course you are."
I am an active follower of Stormy Daniels, myself, and let me clarify for my readers that she has gotten just as much positive and negative publicity as Michael Avenatti has. We, in the adult industry, are rooting for her, love her, and admire her. She is a "Film STAR", not the simple "Porn Star" label Tucker addresses to her, and she is an Exclusive Contract Director for Digital Playground, a very successful adult company. She has recently published a book, "Full Disclosure," which she introduced on a television show ,The View. She has an in-depth interview published on the Rolling Stone, a Penthouse spread and cover, and the list only goes on! Also, to add, her Richmond booking was cancelled because of Hurricane Florence, Tucker's claim about the club being depressing, or the insults and "things" being thrown at her is based off of pure opinion. Stormy Daniels is a hard-working mother, who makes her living doing what she enjoys, not what she has to. Her message is revolutionizing our community like a powerful Storm, forgive my pun. People who are both for, and against the sex industry are responding which is only natural. That is my opinion because I can relate.
Let me clarify, that there are several routes one can go within the adult industry aside strip clubs if she or he so chooses to, including routes that lead out of the adult industry if she or he so chooses to. This is not the 17th or 18th century where women had no other rights or options because we were placed in separate spheres. We are not degenerates, but some people degenerate us in their own eyes by judging prematurely.
The ending comments made by Tucker Carlson are too aggressive in order to list in my blog, however, I hope that in the future we can take News and interviews back to professionalism. Thank you for reading!
